In keeping with all the statutory requirements of the ISO 14001:2004 Certification for Environment Management Systems under consideration, major portion of the Birla Group’s CSR initiatives has a responsibility to maintain a healthy ecological balance and a secure work environment . Birla believes to manage companies soundly, profitably to serve the need of its consumers, employees, and the communities.

The Birla Group is also known for its contribution in benevolent and educational activities. It donates millions every year to technical institutions, famine, relief funds, hospitals, and religious organizations. It has set up some of the most prominent educational institutions and hospitals in the country.

Birla is akin to the phrase “An Anchor in the ocean”, as he is a role model and a perfect example of a responsible, modern day leader, who has successfully changed the face of Indian industries. Considering, the new advancement, technologies, and ongoing demands of the dynamic global market as well as consumers. Universal Cables Limited has allocated more than Rs. 7 Crores in CSR projects from FY 2019-20 to FY 2025-26. With a strong focus on healthcare, education, rural infrastructure, and environmental sustainability, these initiatives have significantly contributed to improving lives in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Goa.

Major CSR Initiatives include:
  1. Healthcare Development – Rs. 355 Lakhs

    The Company has undertaken extensive upgradation of healthcare infrastructure at MP Birla Hospital, Satna (Rs. 298 Lakhs) through Infrastructure improvement and modernization and at MP Birla Hospital & Research Centre, Chittorgarh (Rs. 35 Lakhs) with procurement of advanced medical equipment for laparoscopic, urology, and ENT departments. Additionally, ambulances worth Rs. 22 Lakhs were provided, enhancing access to quality healthcare for underprivileged communities.

  2. Education Infrastructure & Support – Rs. 120 Lakhs

    The Company has supported education through the construction of new classrooms and infrastructure improvement at Priyamvada Birla Sr. Sec. School, Satna (Rs. 60 Lakhs), enhancement of facilities at a Government School in Goa (Rs. 19 Lakhs), and renovation of Anganwadi centres and schools in Madhya Pradesh (Rs. 38 Lakhs). Distribution of uniforms and books has further supported children from less privileged backgrounds.

  3. Rural Development – Road Construction – Rs. 56 Lakhs

    As part of rural connectivity enhancement, the Company facilitated construction of vital road networks, ensuring better mobility for villagers, improved access to schools, markets, and healthcare facilities at rural areas of Satna District. These projects have contributed to the economic and social upliftment of remote communities.

  4. Ecological Development & Sustainability – Rs. 53 Lakhs

    The Company has undertaken tree plantation drives and initiatives promoting environmental sustainability. These efforts not only improve green cover but also foster ecological balance and create community awareness about conservation and climate resilience.

  5. Support for Differently Abled – Rs. 20 Lakhs

    To reduce inequalities faced by socially and economically disadvantaged groups, the Company distributed artificial limbs and tricycles to physically disabled persons, empowering them with greater mobility and dignity.

  6. Other Projects

    In addition to the above, the Company has extended CSR support to diverse areas including disaster management (with significant Covid-19 relief measures), professional skills development initiatives, animal welfare, sanitation and preventive healthcare programs, and promotion of rural as well as nationally recognised sports, thereby addressing holistic community needs.
